Someone with extremely high regeneration lights uses highly destructive spells to destroy their enemies while barely surviving themselves.
The red-eyed tree frog, when threatened, flashes its red eyes at predators to startle them. While the predator is startled, the frog uses this chance to run away. Imagine someone who casts an illusion magic to make their opponent see someone startling, like their mother, and then the caster uses this chance to disappear.
A sword that will grant great power to one who is worthy. In actuality, it's a myth that's been compounded with decades of confirmation bias. If someone succeeds and performs an amazing feat with the sword, they were worthy of the sword. If someone dies while wielding the sword, the person was not, in fact, worthy and the people had thought wrong.
Luck Skill, Weak Person has the ability to succeed in whatever they attempt, but just barely. If they have a physical exam, they will barely reach the minimum. However, if they're fighting a really strong opponent, they will just barely escape or even win. Luck Skill is nullified by others with equal stronger Luck Skills, or people with Null Skill abilities. Some tasks which require too much luck to go right will be too much for the Luck Skill to handle and will result in only doing better than what would normally be done, but not succeeding.
Person A and Person B Person A - Counter Person A takes an attack and returns with a strike or shot of equal power Person B - Defense/Healing Boost Person B increases the defense of Person A and heals any injuries accrued. It makes sense to defeat Person B first, as that significantly weakens Person A and prevents them from healing, but doing so transforms Person A's ability. Person A - Vengeance Person A's strikes and shots' power are the combined strength of every attack they take. Speed increased, power increased.
Person who, upon skin-to-skin contact with another person, an invisible blade will automatically cut that person up. Wears gloves to prevent this.
Human glowstick. Crack their joints, they start glowing.
Black Magic Healing Ability to heal physical injuries by stealing the life force of those around the person at the cost of the person losing their mental health. Overuse can result in depression, self-harm, paranoia, irrational rage and hatred, and insanity.
Malicious Curse Those afflicted by it are faced with intense hatred from their peers for seemingly no reason. The hatred is strong to the point of them being physically attacked simply for existing. The curse also allows the cursed person to attack with the curse, causing anyone the curse touches to feel the intense pain and hatred directed towards the original curser.
Theft Ability User can target any non-living object and have it automatically teleport into their hands. The user must be able to picture the object and where it is. The more specific and detailed the picture, the more smoothly the transition goes without any collateral damage.
A drunkard with water powers. The twist, though, is that the drunkard is not a drunkard. The drunkard actually just drinks a lot of water to stay hydrated but acts like a drunkard so people let their guard down.
A forcefield that not only stops an attack, but hits back with the impact it deflected. Someone with this power (A) pairs with someone who has high attack and defense (B). (B) will get up to a high point, and jump down, striking (A)'s forcefield. The impact sends (B) flying, like a human cannonball. Great for infiltrating, invading, or just generally going a great distance quickly.
In a world of powers, a strong, silent type whose power is assumed to be increased strength because of how strong they are. In the time of need, though, when the protagonist team is surrounded and about to be captured, it's revealed that the person's power is actually a supersonic scream.
A shadow/persona/spirit of a person that strangles all those the person doesn't like, even the person themself if it came to that.
Person with ice powers who prefers warm places and summers rather than cold places and winter. "My ice powers grant me resistance to the heat, but if it gets too cold, there's not much I can do about it."
A reverse empath. Rather than feeling what others feel, others feel what they feel. Sounds lame, but think of the possibilities. A lover of humanity who manages to bring even the most heartless of killers to justice without landing a single punch. A warmonger who inspires all around them to fight, whether it be others or themselves. A joker-level maniac who brings out the madness in others until all around them is utter madness and anarchy. There are so many possibilities.
A killer who can seemingly destroy anything and anyone without even touching them. Victims seem to spontaneously have holes ripped from inside of them. The killer's secret is their power is actually forcefields, but they create forcefields that are too small to see and slowly expand them inside their target.
Someone whose blood, when it touches a person, makes that person under his/her control. Led a life being avoided and shunned because of it, and as a result, will literally bring themselves to the point of blood and bones just for their friends.
A swordsman with levitation powers. Imagine the acrobatics and flourishes that could be done.
